Changing the rail from the left side to the right side is not an impossible task. The person just needs to have a screwdriver with flat blade and this can be done in twenty minutes or less. You should run the stair lift at the topmost part of the rail then you should disconnect the unit from the power. The power can come from the AC unit or from the DC unit which is a battery that can be found underneath the chair.

First take away the assembly for the chair and put it in another place first. Remove the wires that can be found on its header. Take off the calling extended wire from behind the rail and put it on the opposite side. Remove the unit’s cover which can be found from the upper part and covers two inches of the rail. Remove the wires from its receptacle which are colored green, white and black then pop it. Pop the two plugs for the calling and sending.

The second part is taking away the plate’s cover found on the opposite side of the unit’s header. Install the header’s plate cover on top of the left side hole where it was removed. Snap the wires and the receptacle that is found on the opposite part. Connect the wires again to the unit’s receptacle. Glide the cover to its original place above the unit’s header and then fully connect it again.

Take away the rack for the magazine which is one panel under the rack. Take the footrest and unwire it then take off the footrest by using two big screws preferably the Allen screw. Place the unit’s footrest on the other side and then make sure that it is fully secured. Put its wires back together by first plugging in the blue wire and the red wire again. Tie them together tightly.

Place the chair back again on the unit this time it should face the other direction. Using the smaller slot for the screwdriver get the switch from the resting place for the arm. Then spin that for a one hundred eighty degree turn and then push that back to the resting place. From here you can complete the whole installation process that is written on the manual. Test if the resting place for the foot is working and make sure the power doesn’t get cut. Everything should be in the proper direction first before the passenger can use it.
